1. Peacocks have 1.8 metre- long tails adorned with colouful ' eyes' . The more the eyes, the more attractive the male is. 

2. The first mammals didn't distinguish colours and they were nocturnal . 

3. A more colourful Mandril means it is a male. The brighter the colour on its muzzle and butt, the stronger the animal. 

4. At the beginning there were birds and mammals appeared later. The first ones needed colours being diurnal , but the latter were mostly nocturnal.

5. The humming bird's neck and head feathers are metalic purple in order to impress a potential mate. 

6. The bird of Paradise removes everything green from their ' stage ' because its main colour is glimmering / shimmering green .
